Weaner Steers to $1990\/head<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Welcomed rain across a large area has sent backgrounder cattle prices to a new level. This week\u2019s yarding consisted of mainly weaner and backgrounder cattle as feeder number shorten. Tandora Grazing of Maryborough sold a line of 41, eight- to ten-month-old Charbray x weaner steers for $1990\/head. G & N Scholl of Gatton sold 8-month-old Charbray weaner steers for $1840\/head. P & R O\u2019Brien of Gayndah sold Charolais x steers 14mths old for $1930\/head. Coal Creek Angus of Esk sold Angus weaner steers 6-months old for $1830\/head. G & N Stark of Crows Nest sold Angus cross weaner steers 6-months old for $1810\/head.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

L & M North of Wivenhoe sold Simmental x weaner steers 6-months old for $1720\/head. G, R & M Bauer of Tambo sold Brahman x light weaner steers for $1650\/head, $1630\/head & $1560\/head. Sarger P\/L of Kilcoy sold light Charolais x weaner steers for $1640\/head. B & C Hardy of Emu Creek sold Bazadais x steers 12-months old for $1980\/head. Dale Bennett of Ivory Creek sold Charbray x weaner steers calves three months old for $1220\/head.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Weaner and backgrounder heifers were in strong demand as re-stockers competed to secure cattle as number shorten across the state. Mark Tilley of Beaudesert sold quality Santa heifers 14mths old for $1890\/head. Peter Simpson of Commissioners Flat sold Santa x heifers 14mths for $1750\/head. J D Lex of Coominya sold Droughtmasters x heifers 16mths old for $1860\/head. Palikes P\/L of Esk sold Droughtmaster x weaner heifers for $1790\/head. JF, JM & RM Cross of Kumbia sold quality Brahman heifers 16mths old for $1780\/head<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tandora Grazing of Maryborough sold a line of 31 Charbray x weaner heifers, 8-months old sold for $1800\/head, with their Limousin x heifers topping at $1650\/head. Vedelago Family of Gatton sold Charolais x weaner heifers for $1670\/head. G & N Scholl of Gatton sold a quality pen of Charolais x weaner heifers 8-months old for $1670\/head. Bottle Tree Operations of Spring Creek sold Charolais weaner heifers 6-8months old for $1670\/head. Colinton Pastoral sold Charbray weaner heifers for $1680\/head.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

R & T Richards of Manumbar sold Charolais x weaner heifers 6-8mths for $1550\/head. G, R & M Bauer sold Charbray weaners 6months old for $1480 & $1440\/head, with  the Brahman weaner heifers topping at $1230\/head. Colinton Past sold Charbray heifer calves 5 months old for $1300\/head.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Limited number of Cows and Calves were yarded this week with a pen of Charbray Cows and Calves account WJ & KA Lefoe selling for $2850\/head. J & S Pastoral sold a quality Red Brahman Cows PTIC for $2560\/head and some Brangus x PTIC cows for $2460\/head. P & R O\u2019Brien of Gayndah sold aged store conditioned PTIC Red Brangus x cows for $2060, $1940\/head.
