Shepherdson and Boyd yarded 1050 head of cattle at Toogoolawah Store. A quality line of backgrounder steers and heifers came to hand and sold to strong competition. The feeder steer market remained fullyfirm. Feeder heifers were in demand and sold to a dearer market. Todays’ sale saw an influx of goodquality lines of future breeder heifers selling to a dearer market showing the strengths of the weaner market.\n\n\n\n

Heavy background steers account of D & H Golinski from Harlin sold to $1,820. Light backgrounder steers account Maree Duncombe from Conondale sold to top at $1,670 to average $1,570. Luca Kennedy from Conondale sold Charolais x weaner steers to $1,580. A large line of good quality light weight weaner steers account P & R O’Brien from Gayndah sold to $1,690 to average $1,550.\n\n\n\n

Lee Clifford from Thangool sold a top quality line of Santa & Santa\/Angus heavy weight heifers to join andfeed to a top of $2,010 to average $1,880. Brahman future breeder heifers from Brisbane Valley Protein sold to a top of $1,900 to average $1,820. Tandora Grazing from Maryborough sold a great run of top quality Brahman replacement heifers to a top of $1,700. D & H Golinski sold Charolais x heifers to $1,480. B & A Gentry sold quality Limo x weaner heifers to a top of $1,460. Galloway Cattle Company from Lower Cressbrook sold Charolais weaner heifers to $1,440. A & B Little sold Angus x weaner heifers for $1,300. RJ & KJ Johannesen from Brooweena sold Bazadais x cows & calves for $2,575 & $2,450. P & R O’Brien from Gayndah sold a large run of aged cows & calves $2,475 to average $2,330. The same vendor also sold a large run of aged PTIC (Red & Blue tags) cows to a top $1,990 to average $1,870. Droughtmaster cows from Woodford sold to $2,010. P & R O’Brien sold empty store condition cows to $1,800.\n\n\n\n
